Smarties is part of Rotherham L.A.'s Early Years Provision. It operates term time only, Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm.

Smarties is for children who are able to access EEF (Early Education Funding) entitlement:
  • EEF for all 3 year olds starts the term after their 3rd birthday
  • EEF for all eligible 2 year olds starts the term after their 2nd birthday
  • EEF enables children to access 15 hours free care per week

We appreciate that family and home are the child's most important and influential environment. We aim to work with parents and families to ensure children have the best possible start in their educational life.

We have developed our environment to encourage self confidence, exploration and a joy of finding out and learning.

We provide
  • a free-flow indoor/outdoor environment all year round
  • a healthy snack table for milk, water, toast and a selection of fruit
  • creative, imaginative, messy and physical play
  • stories and singing times
  • a safe and secure environment

Please telephone us on 01709 336340 and we will make an arrangement for you to come and look around our fantastic setting. We look forward to meeting you. "Hi to all Smarties children and their families.

My name is Sue Martin and I am the School Governor for Smarties. This means I will be making visits to see you all and find out about all the exciting things you are learning.

I have a daughter Lauren, who is in Year 2 at Cortonwood. When I'm not being a mum and School Governor, I work at another primary school in Rotherham to provide advice and clerical support to their Governors.

If any parents would like to speak to me about anything school related, I am usually around at the start and the end of the school day.  Alternatively, messages can be left for me at the school office.

I hope you all have a great year in Smarties!"

Mrs Martin
