Shooting Stars

Welcome to the Shooting Stars!

"Hello. My name is Mrs. V. Jones and I am the Governor assigned to the Year 2 class. I am married and have a son, a daughter and four grandsons! For the whole of my working life I have been a teacher and spent the last 25 years here at Cortonwood.  I was appointed Deputy Head of the school for a number of years before taking early retirement five years ago."

School Governor

We had a fabulous day at Sherwood Forest, everyone got stuck collecting sticks to build the dens. It was brilliant to see where Robin Hood has once roamed because this term we are learning about Legends. Seeing Sherwood Forest for ourselves has helped us to add more detail and description to our writing.

The Shooting Stars said, "this was the best trip ever!"

We had a great time on Red Nose Day because we spent the afternoon making our faces funny! What do you think? (Jodie and Kai)
Here are some pictures of our class trip to the English Institute of Sport. As you can see, we had a very busy day!!!!! (Lauren and Vinnie) smiley
Our topic this half term is all about the Rainforest, we are looking at the weather and what grows there. We also had a fun afternoon celebrating World Book Day, here are a few pics! (Lauren and Vinnie)

Here are some pictures from our exciting trip to the National Space Centre.

The Shooting Stars a have been investigating materials in our science lessons. We had a challenge to create a boat that would float and be strong enough to hold two small objects.
